The businesses may have to put a cap on the amount they charge so they cannot make as much money as they wish (this may be good for fans so you only have to pay 40.00 versus 50.00)
...or businesses may be forced to charge a minimum so your lots don't fill up before the stadium lots! Lowest bidder gets their lot filled first). Just a conspiracy theory!
Why didn't Texans say, "no" to this stupid place? The benefit to the stadium is a lot of crime will be invited! By the time you pay parking, you have no money to eat or sit in a decent seat!

I agree. The parking is stupid. I guess if I ever go to a game, I will have my car packed with 20 people & we will all sit in the nose bleed section & I will have my jacket stuffed with food & drinks & hope we don't get thrown out. Not

Instead, I'll put that same money into going to an extra hockey game each year. I can take DART to downtown, have plenty of options for dinner before the game for less money than driving to Arlington and parking. Not to mention an hour less commuting time. It's really a no-brainer to me. Ditch the Cowboys.

I would imagine that your story is like many others throughout the Metroplex. Jerry better hope for winning seasons in the first few years of the stadium otherwise....

This is true but again Arlington has a very narrow vision for the city so...

It's a typical suburb with typical suburb attitude. They are stuck in the 1960s out there. In this day in age, I don't see how any city can sustain without alternative transportation. That said, I can understand football stadiums being in the suburbs though. Everything a football game brings lasts from the early morning to the evening with tailgating. That's why you see many new stadiums go out into the suburbs. EVERYTHING else, should be in the city. The Rangers really messed up building the ballpark out there. That's why MLB does not want to come back out there for the all star game. Now at times, you will have three events (Rangers games, Cowboy games, and SFOT) and it will be a traffic nightmare. They can fix all the roads they can. It won't alleviate a thing.

Yep when the Rangers, Cowboys and Six Flags get going the traffic will be horrible. I can't imagine trying to get out of that place.

Its been good to read the last couple of days that the ballpark's lack of roof and location(lack of rail and not being near a more densely populated area) are major concerns for potential new owners. The Dallas O and Morning News are saying those interested in buying want a downtown park with a retractable roof or a retractable roof retrofitted to the ballpark. I figured this out a long time ago. I think the park itself is a great stadium. But everything is wrong with the ballpark. They need to look at the location of Minnesota's new ballpark(not Houston's which is downtown but not in a great location like Target Field). They need to look at the design of the Marlin's new park and do something progressive.

We went to the Indy 500 in 2007 and stayed downtown. Which is where ALL the action is. Lots of hotels, dining, entertainment. And the convention center. AND their brand new stadium. They'd just announced Dallas getting the SuperBowl, beating out Indy. I thought they were all on crack. Indy is a FAR BETTER location. But apparently number of butts in seats counts for an awful lot.

I wish they would make a DART rail stop in Arlington. At least they are doing a stop at DFW. That helps me a ton since I fly so often.

Arlington doesn't want mass transit. They have voted it down twice.

$1,375,000.00 Dollar’s generated per game in parking fees
I agree Arlington was probably not the place to build the stadium for the benefit of “The general Public” just from the public transportation aspect alone, but from a business and owners aspect it was the perfect place.
$75.00 for season ticket and up close parking, $40.00 per car to park in the boonies, do the math on a large attendance, and the parking lot alone in time is probably paying for that huge TV screen in the center of the stadium that cost like 30 million.
There is an estimated 30,000 parking spaces at the stadium and let’s say for argument that only 5,000 spaces are at $75.00 and the rest are all $40.00 you have to also remember the stadium holds 80,000 people so this parking number is conservative
$75.00 X 5,000 = $375,000.00
$40.00 X 25,000 = $1,000,000.00
This mean that at every game when the parking lot is filled the parking revenues using this scale generate $1,375,000.00
