You will totally get cheezed on the North Dallas Tollway going 55.
Y'all are so fun...love it!!
But seriously...I learned how to drive around Providence and Boston. Then moved to Miami - driving in Dallas is a piece of cake.

Well the law is your not supposed to be driving in the far left lane except to pass "slower moving vehicles" and that "slower moving vehicles" are to move to the right. There is no law that constitutes what is "slower moving" by speed except that if you are traveling slower than the other cars............. GET OVER TO THE RIGHT! And this one will come as a shocker to many but there is no law saying that the "slower moving" vehicle even if they are going the speed limit has the right to stay in the far left lane and impede traffic for those that are going OVER the speed limit. So those tooling along at 65mph in the far left lane and sitting neck and neck w/ those to their right are REQUIRED by law to get over out of the far left lane if they are not passing. I so wish they would ticket more for this nowadays.

You will get cheezed doing 65-70 on that road. Best rule to follow on that road, if your too scared to go over 55 then just don't get on it. If you do get on it and are going to go slower than the flow of traffic is to stay FAR RIGHT!
Driving in Miami is akin to playing Russian Roulette. I'm sure you have heard the joke about the woman who called her elderly husband to tell him she heard reports of a wrong way driver out on the highway in S. Florida. His response, "ONE! Hell there are thousands of them going the wrong way and they are all coming at me".

1. I didn't know my car went that slow. Huh.
2. You think Dallas drivers are crazy, you should drive Oahu. Now there are some people who can't drive! 40 mph on the freeways, butting in for no reason with no signals, aimless weaving, driving in 2 lanes at once. And they thought I was lolo for going 70 down the H-1.

You can't go 70 on H1! You can barely go forty! LOL! I remember looking out my apartment window in Aiea at 5:30 in the morning and seeing the eastbound side of H1 already at a dead stop...

Um, that is "normal" for THAT part of the country but it is NOT "normal" for everyone nor everywhere. One must understand that what one views as "normal" is not always "normal" for everyone. Smiling and just saying "hi" to the cashier at the store is NOT "trying to get in their business". It is a courtesy and nothing more. THAT is "normal" here. As a matter of fact it IS "normal" to say such pleasantries in ALL parts of the country. I've never had anyone get upset with me when I say "hi" to them or to "have a good day" or "thank you" when I've encountered them no matter where I am in this country. I've actually had people be hard for me to get away from when I do start talking to them when I travel because it is nice for them to actually encounter a customer that is not a "sour puss" or whatever and is HAPPY to be there. Or they ask me about where I'm from and all kinds of questions. I'm actually OPEN to being talked to - novel idea I guess for some. I don't feel the need to walk around like I've got some stick up my butt and unhappy to be breathing. I LIKE to smile and be a happy person and so do most people around here. We are NOT going to change whenever we travel to other places nor are we going to change when we encounter someone that thinks that is "rude" or not "normal" according to them. I also don't have a single neighbor that gets mad or upset when we wave at them as we are passing them in the street in the neighborhood. Now getting upset about that........... bizare. To say the least.

Its common to strike up a conversation with friendly Texas people. We are creatures of habit ....unless your a hermit. I don't consider being friendly as rude.

Some of them were pretty comical while others were just downright pathetic. The pool and the casinos were the best people watching for the worst offenders. How would one know where they are from? Listen to them talk. They either have an accent that is a dead giveaway plus EVERYONE in Vegas seems to always ask, "where are you from". The four jeezeee fella's at the pool were a sight to see if one could stand watching them for more than 2 minutes - it was painful. Then some of the women...... OUCH! All of my friends from Dallas all seem to know what a simple black classic after 5 dress is and what shoes to wear with such.
Thanks for reminding me of the laughs from last week. HAHAHAHAHAAA!!!!
So while in a 7-11 we are to stop and come to a sudden crawl and not run in and just grab a quick drink?????? I've been in many of a convience stores all over and I've never seen anyone act any different in them here than they do anywhere else.

Now wishing I had taken my camera around with me and taken pictures for the memories and the record. LOL!!!!

right, great statistical sample. Just like ALL the bad drivers from Dallas are from Calfornia, some other town, or Chicagoans who never owned a car (which is pretty much no one) or similiar New Yorkers (might actually be a few people who never owned cars, who, by the way, never moved to Dallas).
