Honestly, these posts are sometimes baffling -- especially when you're not socially conservative and don't have issues with diversity. Are you just looking for communities that don't support liberal policies, like say, funding social programs?
I don't see what is wrong with wanting to be in a neighborhood with people who share your views. I don't think the OP is saying she wants to be isolated and only associate with people with her views, she would just like to feel that she has something in common with them..

That's not right. Ask real fiscal conservatives(for example, someone like Karl Denninger) whether Bush is one, most likely the answer is a big 'NO'. Being a Republican does not automatically qualify you as a fiscal conservative. Nor does being a Democrat disqualify. Don't be fooled by the mainstream media.

sorry, I agree with thelonranger, he didn't say republicans/democrats, he said fiscal conservatives versus fiscal liberals, you can be a republican and not be toally conservative and visa versa.

The OP should proceed directly to Frisco and whoever said Dallas County is full of Californians is mistaken, I think. I never meet any here, I have to go to Plano or Frisco to meet them.

Try the Lucas/Fairview area in Collin County. My hubby commutes to airport also throughout the week (about 45 min on 121 tollway). Nice,
quiet country location with great schools, housing and it is conservative
in general. My neighbors had plenty of "Obama" signs in their yards.
Housing ranges 400k-1.5 plus...

most people who say they are conservative and don't have issues with diversity -- do...
most people who say they are fiscal conversative really mean they don't want anyone freeloading off the government dole (their tax dollars) especially if they are minorities but it is ok for THEIR family members to get Medicaid assistance for kids/people w/o insurance or for grandparents to get nursing home assistance so they don't have to pay for it or if their kids qualify for some type of low-interest govt loan--that is ok...

MANY Californians who have come here have gone through foreclosure and lost employment--they are fleeing a situation where they had terrible cost of living and taxes and lifestyle that had horrible commutes, overcrowding, and attitude...because TX has a viable economy--so far--where they can find work and cheaper standard of living that is basically very nice--so it is more uptick than downtick...they would have gone ANYWHERE they could have found respite...I would have thought more highly of their choice if they had come here 10 yrs ago or 5 yrs ago when it was not a life-boat decision...
frankly I think many of them will bring their attitudes with them--too bad...
and I hope for the sake of Texas and OUR own needs/resources (and I know that smacks of xenophobia but...) I hope some of them go back to CA or whereever when things improve ... I really hope all these people do not stay here permanently...TX does not have the political brain power to anticipate and plan for how to deal with the demands this population oversurge is going to cause...we are already starting to show some of the same symptoms that CA did 15 or so years ago...and I don't think there will be a positive outcome...I think our quality of life is going to start to suffer in the next 5 yrs or so even without mass influxes of people who have lost jobs and want to start over...

and I am SO TIRED of the people who want new/updated/attractive parks, no-pot-hole streets, librairies with plenty of computers and story time and all the best sellers, top quality schools with low class sizes and perfect teachers to guarantee their children will achieve better than anticipated results, any extra curricular activity they might want and eventually earn college scholarships so they don't have to pay for tuition, the best police and fire service with enough personnel to handle any emergency quickly and professionally, city utilities that actually drop their rates, cheap tuition at state colleges, ad infinitum...
all at lower taxes than the year before...
Frankly that is what most people I see talking about "fiscal" conservatism want---

That is my fear too, that the Californians will turn Texas into California II.

Don't worry...you have to be an actual American to vote here, so the Californians will have to wait a generation to try to take over!
