Hi-
What are the internet providers for far north Dallas? Are there any that you would recommend to use or to stay far away from?
Thanks!

There is Time Warner Cable & AT&T. There is also Verizon but they only service in Plano and some parts of Irving.

Hope that helps!

yeah really...this is scary that there's not more to pick from! Everything I read about Time Warner is negative.

It's entirely dependent on where you live.

I think Time-Warner services everywhere.

You might be able to get Verizon FiOS.

Or perhaps AT&T U-Verse.

I agree with Verizon Fios!!! Best service and quality out there.

Time Warner sucks!!!

If you are in an apt. ask the management company that services your complex.

Not true. Here is a list of Verizon FIOS cities in Texas:

Texas Fios Availability - Fios Texas - Verizon Fios TX

Yes parts of Plano, Irving, but also Murphy, Wylie, Garland, Richardson (parts), Sachse, Rockwall (parts), Allen [might be as far north as you can get with FIOS going due north], Denton, even some small parts of Dallas, Lucas, Parker, not to mention some areas on the Ft Worth side (Keller, etc).

If you can get Verizon FIOS, get it. It's the best. They have affordable plans and they also have ridiculously fast plans, like the 50/20 plan I have. Never goes down as far as I can tell.

If you are looking for a house/apt and want Verizon FIOS, I'd check before you buy/rent. When we decided to buy a house in the DFW area, our first "filter" for narrowing down houses were ones that had Verizon FIOS. It's worth it, even if you go for a slower plan (slowest I think is 15/5). I mean, why move to a city like Frisco if it only has crappy internet? Sure it's a nice place to live, but if you are relocating why not relocate to a place where you can get crazy fast internet instead of buying something and thinking, "man oh man I wish I moved down the street so I could have FIOS."
