So, all this Texas research is debunking a few Texas myths. I've found that not everyone has big hair. And not all the houses are ginormous. And people, for the most part, don't have big Texas attitudes.

So...what things are, in your opinion, truly BIGGER in Texas?

I was born and raised here so I'd agree, not much is really bigger. Though, when I go places out of state it does seem everything is smaller.

I'm a native Texan, have lived here most of my life and even when I lived other places for short periods I viewed myself as just visiting as I lived in Texas.

But in all honesty....Ego's. They are bigger than anywhere else. We know it, but well...we're Texan's and that's just the way it is.

But some other things:
Chicken fried steak
Cheeseburgers
Trucks
Personal space
parking spaces
mall's (excluding Mall of America-that damn thing is HUGE even by Texas standards!!!)
Right of way (and by inverse correlation -- YOUR right of way )

The state is damn big- it's a shorter drive from Dallas to Chicago than from Dallas to El Paso!!

Cars are bigger- this is "Ford Country"! I missed the "Ford is the best in Texas" commercials when I lived in NYC. At least half the vehicles on the road are SUVs or trucks.

There is a lot of that "wide open spaces" the Dixie Chicks sing about here....just not in the cities or suburbs.

What else is "bigger"? The amount of Republicans, Baptists, waistlines, bilingual signage & auto phone prompting, property taxes, guns & NRA members/ avid hunters, the legendary "eat the 72oz steak & it's free" in Amarillo, the love for Texas high school football & home of Friday Night Lights, the Texas-OU rivalry, the Texas- Texas A&M rivalry, plastic surgery, account balances at Neiman Marcus, etc.
