Why isn't there any fast food/retail in Richardson?
I was looking at houses in Richardson and drove through Arapaho, Plano, Cambell and Renner road and just happend to want to grab a bite to eat, there was nothing. I literally drove through an entire northern part of Richardson, an area where a combined 50-100,000 people must live/work and there wasn't a single McDonalds, Wal-Mart or Wendys. Being as that the northern part of Dallas/Plano/Frisco is retail mecca there is no way this is by accident, I am wandering if Richardson did this on purpose or what is going on?

I close tomorrow on a house in Heights Park in Richardson and there's not much fast food nearby. There's a McDonald's, a Subway, a Taco Bell, and a Pizza Hut nearby and that is pretty much it. It does not bother me at all!

All you need is Raising Cane's at Coit and Campbell and you're set for life.

There are plenty. Funny thing is it sounds like you missed most of them by like a block or so. Easy to do if you don't know what is around.

I chuckled when I read this thread title.
I've got a Burger Street, McDonald's, J-Box, and a Subway all within 1 mile of my house.

You've also got a Burger King and an Arby's over there.
None of these places we've mentioned makes as good a burger as Del's though.

The roads you mention (Plano) suggest you were east of 75. There really is nothing much over there. It is all west of 75. Campbell has all you need (or don't). Coit is the shopping st. Also you could of course go to Plano - one block north of Richardson and there's a lot of stuff there too.
