interesting--
nice to see that Austin College did well--that is very good small college
and even schools that I know many people on this forum don't show much respect for have their students going to universities that most people respect pretty highly...
not many west coast schools at all
and I wonder how many students have parental ties to some of these colleges...

Who cares? I'm sorry, but I don't see the value in this data whatsoever.

Default Re:

Well, if you're interested in going the liberal arts route, Austin College is about the only halfway-decent choice in the immediate area. Texas isn't like the Midwest, with a wide selection of small private schools.

As for the "this is worthless" comment, I don't know what to say. First, this isn't hard news. it's just a fun article to give a tip of the hat to the top kids from each HS. Second, this info gives a valuable snapshot of 1) how the Texas universities stack up relative to each other among those students who could attend any of the public schools they choose to, and 2) which schools do the best job of preparing those tippy-top students destined for the Ivy League, Duke, Rice, Stanford, and similar schools. (Yay, Plano ISD!) Yes, you could get a more complete picture by listing more than 2 kids per school, but you'd get glassy-eyed pretty quickly.
