I will tackle a few of these. Lancaster to Mesquite is a easy commute, Mesquite to Plano is not has good. I would say rush hour is about 1hr 15 minutes. Lancaster to Waxahachie is a breeze and you would be looking at 20-25 minutes. Lancaster to Grand Prairie to Ft Worth would not be a bad commute since Grand Praire sits between Lancaster and Ft Worth. My guess is you would be looking at 30 minutes. Any commute form Lancaster to Plano is going to be along one. Lancaster is to the south and Plano is to the far North. A 1hr and half during rush hour would not be out of the question.

I live in Lancaster. My mom works in Waxahachie and I agree with Grainraiser that the commute is about 20 minutes using I-35, although periodic road work can make that a bit longer. A quicker alternative would be State Highway 342, which runs through Lancaster and merges with US 77 just north of Waxahachie. On that route, it takes about 15-20 minutes to get from Lancaster to Waxahachie.

Commuting from Lancaster to Mesquite on I-20, then I-635, takes about 25-35 minutes on a regular day. From my experience, there is rarely ever any traffic tie ups on I-20 between the I-45 interchange and the I-20/I-635 split. That part of the highway goes through one of the most lightly populated areas of Dallas County.

During non-rush hour periods, the commute from Lancaster to Grand Prairie takes about 25-30 minutes. During rush hour, probably closer to 30-35 minutes. The traffic tends to increase as you get closer to the Grand Prairie/Arlington area. If there has been an accident or bad weather, I would add another 15-20 minutes to both sets of times.

These are the only areas that I have traveled through on a regular-enough basis to give an idea about commute times, so I hope that you find my information helpful.
