Hello again, my father will be retiring very soon and possibly relocate to Dallas, where would you refer him to look for jobs. Full time is fine but will take a part time as well.

What type of work is he qualified to do? What is he retiring from? That makes a big difference.

Your right, he does costumer service at the moment, but is open to anything.

Many retail places need people during the day time, and the stores that serve more 'mature' customers (like higher end clothing stores, shoe stores) like to hire older people who will give customer service and have a good appearance. My husband's cousin recently retired at the age of 72 from the men's clothing department in one of the upscale department stores in Dallas....and they begged him not to go because they couldn't find a mature, refined man who could work well with their customers.

If you're working full-time, you are not retired.

if he is not at full retirement age he will lose SS money based on what he earns

I don't know what you mean about "costumer"--does he work in entertainment and helps create costumes for characters?

if so there are some theater groups in the area and couple of costume stores in addition to retail jobs

one person I know who is retired works for HR Block part time for most of the year but full time in income tax season--he was very successful business manager before retiring so his math skills may be better than avg
