I'm a fan of crisp weather, but it seems spring is here in fits & starts this year. Almost looking forward to summer (ducking)! lol

Our HOA opened the pools Sat. Of course, the grandkids insisted on going Sunday afternoon. I took them but they lasted less than 15 min and were turning blue.

Uhh... No we haven't. Today wasn't cool. Cool is not when you're riding a motorcycle and break into a sweat. However, most days have been cool and the next few days are supposed to be. Enjoy it while it lasts people.

There is one thing I'm looking forward to doing in the summer though, swimming.

How do you sweat when the temperature is only in the 70s and the wind is blowing 15-20mph...or you are riding your scooter at 20+ mph? Maybe you need to shed that tight fitting bucket helmet and cold-weather clothing, or maybe you need to lose some weight so you don't sweat so much...

As I posted elsewhere, I'm sick of the cold spring of 2013. Really, really, REALLY sick of it. (By the way I live 2 hours east of Dallas, if that's relevant.)

I realize our summers are awful, 2011 was especially, but I moved to the area largely because in return for the awful summers, you get springs which typically warm up quicker than in other places, and with the winter-time not quite as brutal. I'm a water-sports person, to me winter is merely a period you tolerate until it's warm enough to enjoy the water again. I feel like this spring I was nothing less than ripped off.

Besides, and I realize I'm in Texas, but (a) many places experience crazy weather, not just us and regardless (b) to me the weather should be normal, just NORMAL. To me that's not boring, it's comforting. Imagine if you woke up & everything in your house had been moved and rearranged and you couldn't find anything you were looking for. You take comfort in knowing the location of every light switch, which cabinet contains the drinking glasses, etc. You can feel the light switches even in the dark you know them so well. You derive comfort & security from that. Such describes how I am about normal weather, and the "rearranged" scenario describes how I feel about abnormal weather. It upsets my sense of the balance of stability in the world. It would be like one day the sun setting after only 3 hours with 21 hours of darkness following (say from 9 a.m to 6 a.m. the next day), and then the sun staying up for 4 days straight with no night-time at all for you to fall asleep in.

So, normal is it for me. Enough of the roller coaster, if I wanted a roller coaster ride I'd go to Six Flags.
