I am a born and bred West Texan who just recently came home from Northern New Mexico.

If the homesickness hadn't been so bad, I would have stayed where I was. You can't beat Four Corners weather for year-around living. I just missed TX and everybody I never got to see because I was so far away.

The ice is another story. I love cold weather, but not the icy stuff. Many people don't know how to drive on it, and most people should stay home if they can do so. Many can't, so....I don't understand why so many try to drive on that stuff as if it were dry pavement.

The ice storms here in Alpine were very unusual--and NOT fun. Just bring on the DRY cold, TYVM.

Y'all be careful, and stay safe, OK? It's about 28 here now, but it's (thank God) dry.

Default Schools closed tomorrow

Denton & Prosper schools closed tomorrow. Everyone in Collin County has schools, why close Prosper?

It will probably change by tomorrow morning. Many schools that have a delay will probably close. Bigger districts just haven't decided yet.
