It's very easy to do. Startex Power will take care of making the change for you. You can download the form on their website and mail it in or take care of it online. Or you can do it by phone. They have great customer service.

I'm using Green Mountain's 100% Renewables/Green program at .12, but recently, I noticed at powertochoose.org, there were some others that had 100% green/renewable starting at 10 cents.

I think my apartment complex only allows Direct Energy, so I use them. Pay about $0.13 per kWh.

When we lived there last year, we had TXU and during the summer our highest bill was only $110, cooling a 3 bedroom single story home of approx 1000 sq ft. Not bad, considering how hot it was!

Cheapest one I've found is Stream. We pay 5.8¢ with an average of 9.1¢

I always do fixed 12 month plans that end around New Years. So last year I had a fixed rate of 7.7 cents per KWH (forget with who, not one of the big players at all), but this year their rates went up so I am with Mega Energy this year for a 12 month fixed at 8.2 cents per KWH.

For me, IMHO, I like picking a provider around New Years because rates are low and you can lock in a good rate for a year, then repeat the process next New Years.

9.2c p/kwh with Startex on a 2 year contract.

Apparently you can get lower but I like dealing with a professional operation not the fly by nights who always seem to have billing and customer service 'growing pains' (or they go bust).

Losing your power and therefore AC due to a billing system 'fault' (been there) when it is 105 degrees outside is tedious....

Do you mind sharing which retailer you had the billing problem with?
