In that case you need to include the cost of renting or just buying a limo. I'd only go out there now if it were by limo. It is a HUGE mess. Between the congestion and road construction that existed BEFORE the new stadium was even built it has only gotten worse.

Between the 30 and 40 yard line and about a 1/4 mile from the field literally. Hope you have a good set of binoculars. And bring that extra $100 for beer and food and the extra $40 for parking.

Well if your going drive a truck and tail gate for at least 4-5 hours. That way you get a nice buzz and a full stomach before going in plus you get first dibs on parking if your there 5 hours early. I do that for all the college games I used to go to in Florida when I lived there.

How early is Jerry opening the gates to the parking lots? Is he going to allow tailgating at the new stadium?

From the Cowboys website:

Parking areas are generally open four (4) to five (5) hours prior to Cowboys games. For other lot opening times, visit Cowboys Stadium on line at Home or call the Guest Services Hotline at (817) 892-4161. For Cowboys games prepaid parking passes are required for access to Cowboys Season Parking lots (non-cash lots). For personalized directions to prepaid and cash parking lots, go to Dallas Cowboys Maps. Parking passes are valid only for the event or game noted on the pass and for the specific lot. All vehicles parked within the stadium security perimeter are subject to a security screening prior to admission to the parking area.

Parking Spots are for Vehicles Only
Parking spots are for vehicles only. Drive aisles must remain clear at all times. No items (coolers, tents, tables, chairs, etc.) of any kind may be placed on the ground behind, in front of or around parked vehicles. These items are permitted only in designated tailgating spaces.

Cowboys Stadium Tailgating
Tailgating is permitted in designated tailgating spaces only. These spaces are located on the perimeter of each parking lot and have a grass area immediately behind the vehicle parking spot. There are tailgating spaces in lots 4, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15, and the spaces are filled on a first come/first served basis. If interested in tailgating, it is important to arrive early to obtain one of the designated spaces. For more information on tailgating, including all tailgating guidelines, visit Home. Please be sure to review all of the tailgating guidelines if you intend on tailgating.

there are shuttles from the ARlington hotels to the stadium--you just have to check with the hotel to see if there is a room and what the hotel's rule is for getting a shuttle pass--the Sheraton by convention center has a two-night rule to get free pass--not just one night

you can get shuttle pass if you buy $40 worth of stuff at Lincoln Sq--which means PER PERSON--it is cheaper to rent a car and split the parking with 4-5 other people going to the game than to do that...

check out trip advisor.com
arlington, tx
and run search for Cowboy parking and see what you get
one person posted about going to see George Strait's concert -- the first one--and did take shuttle from hotel to stadium--said that there was total confusion after the concert about which shuttle to get on and where to meet it...so getting back just walked--lots of other people doing that--
but there are few street lights, some streets don't have very good sidewalks and there is still construction along the I-30 access road and Collins/157

for tailgating--I would think the night before would be "early"--don't know how soon they actually open the parking lot gates...you can't park there overnight--I know that...

Sounds liek they are trying to stop people from having fun. I think one of the best parts of a sporting event is the tailgating.

Jerry has NEVER been a fan of tailgating happening in the parking lot before games. He is opening the parking lots 5 hours BEFORE the game start time. Then only a few spots are allowed to tailgate and those are extra. By the time you sit in line in traffic to get into the parking lot and make your way there all of the prep work could be for not if you don't get one of the coveted tailgating spots. Then you won't have a lot of time to sit around and have a few beers, bring out the grill, cook up some chow and eat it. He is like this because HE wants ALL of the revenue he could possibly get from an event going on at a Cowboys game. What he is doing now is only a teeny concession to try and show he DOES allow tailgating. Right.......

The $30 SRO seats aren't even in the stadium. They're literally outside of the stadiuma nd you will be watching the game through glass. Awesome!
