nursing in Texas
Nurses and nurse aides where are the best places to work? I will be taking a travel job when I first come to the area, but will be still looking for something fter my contract is over. I am a RN and my daughter is a CNA, she doesn't have a job.
good benefits.
good pay rate.
low stress.

I would like to know as well. I'm an RN, not currently practicing in the state I live, but I have kept my TX RN license current.

I work in long-term care in Fort Worth, and I hire CNAs and LVNs to work in our facility. Honestly, anywhere in the area near big hospitals or nursing home facilities will be good for an RN or CNA. Unfortunately, DFW area CNAs do not make a lot of money. We only pay up to $10 per hour starting for an experienced CNA. RNs can expect over $25 per hour and many places do the "Baylor Plan" where you work 36 hours a week and are paid for 40 hours.

I have several friends that work for the Presby Hospitals around the metroplex. All are very happy with their jobs.

My neighborhood (Lakewood/East Dallas) is convenient to Baylor and Presby. You will find a lot of nurses and physicians living here...

Nurse aide registry: 1-800-452-3934. You'll need the SSN to verfiy active certification.
