Default Foundation troubles?

I'm thinking about buying a home in Farmers Branch. The home had major repair work done in 2003 (something like 18 piers) and then again in 2006 (10 or so more piers, on the other side of the house). The foundation is under lifetime warranty. The home looks like it needs MORE foundation work now. (it's a slab)

The house currently has renters in it that obviously are not watering the grass/foundation. These same renters have been there since 2003 or 2004. A very large tree appears to have been removed in the last couple years from the back yard, changing most of the back corner of the house from shade to sun.

Is it possible that the lack of watering by the tenants is responsible for the repeated foundation problems? Can you even HAVE foundation problems with this many piers under it?

Is it possible to have some fundamentally flawed foundation that will have problems no matter what you do? I like the house and the price is right, but I'm apprehensive due to this issue.

Thanks in advance for the info guys.

Get a structural engineer to do an inspection, not a foundation company. Then you'll know if it is a problem.

forget it--if the house has had two major foundation repairs it is never going to be fixed right probably
there are plenty of houses on the market -- find one without problems
