I am moving to Dallas around August and looking for a fun place to live. Female, young professional, 27 and will be working in the downtown area. I want to live in a safe area. I don't want to live in the downtown area, but thought about Addison or Las Colinas area? Any suggestions?

Also, what types of social organizations do they have in the area?

Thanks,

If I had to pick between those two I'd go w/ Addison.

You'll be kicking yourself for not choosing Uptown as a single female.

But between the two -- Addison. Social organizations in the suburbs are for married people with kids.

Addison and Las Colinas are too far. You will be wanting to go out, then you will have to drive all the way back home. Uptown would be best but is pricey. You can try Knox-Henderson, Oak Lawn/Turtle Creek, Lower Greenville/East Dallas/Lakewood, the Southside or The Village Apartments.

Any of the above-mentioned places are just a $10 cab ride to each other and downtown. These neighborhoods are where all the nice restaurants, shops and bars are...

The DART rail line runs up North Central Expressway also
