Not another one? Geez, so much promise for revitalization in that area. Has anything moved into the Mervyn's over there?

The buildings that backed up to the road are gone and the front of the others are gone (places that were in there are still open but no facade). I remember when JCPenny had a store there, a small store. The old original sign is in place so I hope they keep it as it is neat and nostalgic.
Garland and Rowlett have too many Walmarts already. I hear that the old Hypermart is going to be closed sometime soon. I love that old Garland Shoppong Center sign. It actually go me intrested in other vintage neon signs around Dallas, some of which I have pictures of. There are a few neat signs by the Orchard Hills shoping area, another one that seems to boom in the 50's or 60's and is now just cluster of half vacant decaying buildings.
