People like it because it's cheap to live here.

Thats one reason I like it here, its not the only reason. People are friendly here, its not hard to find cultural attractions, lots of different kinds of people here from all over the states and the world, I like the heat, it has good resturants of every kind of food, it has a really great nightlife, it will be good for my wife and I once we have kids, etc.

While Dallas was number one on the list, the article was clearly more about job seekers flocking to Texas' three major cities of Dallas, Houston, & Austin. I find it quite odd San Antonio wasn't mentioned...

Cheap is relative, just like traffic, sprawl, and so many other things.

I liked it when I lived there, but I lived in the suburbs, Plano. I also worked in Plano, went to church there, etc. So I never had to deal with traffic unless I was going to the Meyerson or something downtown. Once Dart rail made it to Plano I only had to deal with it when I went to the airport. Then they added the GB tollway and I rarely had to deal with it even then. I will probably come back when I retire if the state is still state income tax free. But I do feel for those that have to drive into or around the metroplex a lot, the traffic is horrific... I still have mixmaster nightmares from the few rare occassions I did have to deal with it during rush hour.
