Best for you to do is visit both areas yourself. Everyone here is going to have different opinions and experiences.

I have some friends that live in Frisco. The traffic is awful and it is a lot of cookie cutter homes, but overall it seems nice. You have everything near by.

I never been to Garland, no idea what it's like. I have friends who said they didn't like the area at all. That's all I know about it.

When we first moved here we were told areas to move to and to avoid. I forget what it was, it was some invisable line. Pretty much just try and stay north.

Cupcake- You are correct in your statement, about seeing for yourself. However us home owners tend to want to defend our community from people slurring negatives that are just uncalled for. I like Frisco, it is nice there. Homes are cute, yes everything is close. Garland and Rowlett have the same.

Property crime in Garland is above the national average. I guess if you don't mind having your car or home broken into regularly then Garland is a relatively cheap Dallas suburb to live in.

Metro- I don't think you have really any room to talk. Crime verses population, Garland is still lower then Tyler.

And Frisco had a RISE in Violent Crime by 12%.
I think I'll stick with the property crime over violent crime Besides, I get the crime reports from the GPD (I'm in the neighborhood crime watch). Most of it is petty crap and usually involves shoplifting at SuperWalmart. BTW, been in Garland all these years and never had a car broken into or my house broken into. Now, when we lived in Carrollton we did have someone break in more than once and several attempted breakin's and this was in the NICE far north area. Hmm, wasn't Frisco in the news awhile back about the rash of car breakin's at Stonebriar?

You know when you read enough of someones posts to realize they don't always know what they are talking about......... I think we found it on this thread I'll usually dismiss it and not even respond as it is usually so outlandish that I'd hope everyone else that reads it knows better.

Those numbers for Garland are pretty high & support my claim even more.

Thanks LQQKOUT you saved me from looking it up myself.

This isn't about Tyler either. Its about the three cities mentioned, none of which could ever match the natural beauty found here in East Texas. If you wish to discuss or belittle Tyler, you can always make a separate thread in the Texas forum. I'll be more than happy to debate with you there.

Thanks again,

Matt

I beg to differ on that quote, as the population out weights and offsets the stats. I will no longer lower myself to your level and this is my last post towards your posts.

Have a great day.

See, what did I say earlier. Some people you just have to learn to ignore and realize they come out and show their true selves. Anyone can realize that the population stats make a HUGE difference.

Your population numbers for Tyler are slightly off. The city is sitting at 110,000 people right now & the whole metro area (Smith County) is right at 200,000 which is about the same size as Garland.
