Tried to search but didn't find what I was looking for.

In the military, stationed out of Texas. In the past I have just renewed my registration online and received it in the mail.

Just traded in the old car (and took the plates/tag) for a new (CPO one) one. Dealer automatically fills out the Washington state DMV form. Being that the current tags on the new car will expire in a few months and fees are $120, would like to register it in Texas as well.

Found the forms on the DMV website but not sure what hassle it might be.
Has anyone ever done it before? Will probably need new plates as well as old plates hit 7 years old.

I'm also a little confused on the DMV requirements. It's ALOT more complicated than AR requirements. I'm not in the military, but this is what I'm referring to (see link below) I've been warned it's a big headache and you may have to go to 3 different places to get it all done.
