The one that scares me is the 14 year old girl from Ft Worth. She had NO UNDERLYING MEDICAL PROBLEMS
. The parents took her to the doctor on Thursday and the doctor did not give her Tamiflu as she was not "high risk". They took her to the hospital on Saturday morning and she was gone by Sunday.
My own 14 year old heard this on the radio this morning on the way to school (I heard about it yesterday). I was GLAD she heard this and told her this is why I want to know if there is
ANYTHING wrong w/ her at all so we can get to the doctor ASAP. I do have one child that is "high risk" and any of us getting the flu is putting her in jeopardy. We all got our regular flu shots a few weeks ago and two of us are on the "high risk" list to get the H1N1 when it comes out next week.
At our schools there have been a few kids out w/ the flu and even at work some have had it. So far the only thing we have had in our household is fatigue (too much going on) and allergies. Oh, and an ear infection.

We've got flu, H1N1, strep and a viral thing going around the neighborhood. My BF's little boy was out for a couple of days (viral) and there were 11 kids out of his class that day.

Our doctor said he had 5 postives for H1N1 yesterday. So it's defineatly in our area.

The only reason the swine flu is getting press is because *gasp* people are freaking out about it. The CDC and the WHO have said that the H1N1 strain of influenza is actually less virulent than the typical seasonal flu.
