Default Filipino food in DFW area?

My wife and I just moved to Frisco from San Diego; we are craving some good Filipino food but have not found a single restaurant or food store that caters to that cuisine. We've been to the new large Asian market in Plano near Chase Oaks, even the older market on Coit & Park. Any suggestions?

We noticed on Royal lane, there is a large Asian area on Royal Lane, just to the east of Stemmons/35E.

FYI, the Palayok restaurant in Richardson went out of business. Not sure about the others. I would call first.

Interesting. As someone that was in the West Coast Navy (lots of Filipino food served on ships) and lived in San Diego (high Filipino population), seems odd that there isn't more of an Filipino influence out here. Seems like a melting pot.

On a related subject, I ate at my first Persian place here in Dallas (not Mediterranean which often gets lumped in with Persian).

A good friend from work that's Iranian turned me onto the neatest place called Giovanni's down on Preston near Bent Trail (before Frankford).

Seriously, it's an Italian place, but they also have Persian food in the back of the menu.

I was skeptical at first, but the food/service was excellent.

He said the Persians often share menus like this because there is not enough interest in the food here in Dallas to warrant a place dedicated to Persian food.

I though that was interesting.

Default Thanks -

Thank you everyone for all your suggestions. We found out the hard way about calling the business first. If we find a place that is still open and has great food, I'll pass it along.
Thanks,

Old Manilla bakery in Mesquite serves goldilocks products and also their own freshly baked filipino food including lumpia shanghai, chicken sao pao, casava cakes/rolls, and their own homemade ensymadas.

Take I-30East and exit on Big Town and go North. It will be in a semi-sketchy strip mall on the right.

Other areas: Carrolton Supermaret (it's a Asian food market) from George Bush Turnpike, turn north on Josey lane...it will be on your right serves virtually all goldilocks products, and other filipino brand foods including their sausages, sticky rice rolls, etc.

I heard in Euless there is a filipino restaurant, but I havent gotten confirmation of that.

THere's also another restaurant supposedly in Mesquite.

Hope this helps. There is a DFW filipino association that maybe able to help better.
