That's the old stereotype, but most Dallas socialites that I see wear a softer look. Some do, however, wear too much make-up. The hair, on the other hand, was from another world. Far too much black dye (her colorist should lose his/her license) and teased up in a way that I haven't seen in 20 years. Cindy, BTW, isn't from Dallas. She's from somewhere in the midwest, Cleveland or Cincinnati?

There is truth to all stereotypes. In Dallas, the women still wear more makeup and have bigger hair even though it may be less than in the past. Relative to places outside of the south, they still wear more makeup. And the other thing that's really big in the south is many of the women dye their hair blonde. Being brunette is sort of taboo there

Nearly all of the 'housewife' reality shows have one character which could be mistaken for a 'drag queen' and this one is no exception.

Oy! I was flipping channels yesterday while on vacation and caught this. As I think Momof2dfw may have suggested before for a Real Housewives of Dallas, we can do much better than this! She thought Angie Barrett and those like her would be great. I think Kim Schlegel Whitman or one of her sisters would be good. Who are these women? I'm around Dallas enough to know who some of the real divas are and it isn't these wannabes. Will they at least have attended the Cattle Barons "mud" Ball from last weekend...a real event that people have actually heard of? Hope this is cancelled quickly and quietly...

Being brunettes is taboo "there"? I'm actually HERE, as opposed to you, and that's simply not true.

Angie Barrett already had a short-lived tv show ("Grin and Barrett") and the Whitman sisters are far too classy to make an interesting tv show. Ie, they would never be caught gossiping & throwing themselves at men on camera.

I just got here and read this tread. Hum, I Googled the show and found THIS. It says it's their house in Plano. Lakewooder, isn't this home in your neighborhood, sort-of? H.L. Hunts old house on White Rock Lake? aka Mount Vernon?
