When the police finally stopped the guy and opened the door (guns pointed), he was on the cellphone !!

Hilarious!

I was going under Central on Meadow when it went over the overpass. I heard the sirens and saw the three copters, but did not see the chase.

Tuned in to channel 11 to see the last 15 minutes of it. I have no idea why these idiots think that running like that is a good idea, esp. when you have no tire on one wheel.

There wasn't much high speed, although it was a (2 hour!) chase. Wonder what the story is as to why.

Exclamation Idiocy

Some people are beyond understanding. Perhaps they just wanted to get on the news. Or maybe that's what happens when one talks on the cellphone while driving.

Geez, I thought they were after me and lost them when I got off in Balch Springs.

I too am wondering how I misses this. I must have been just ahead of it all the way down 75 from 190 to 635 and then LBJ east/south till I exited in BS at Elam. Scary ......

FYI, for those needing stuff for homecoming mums go to Balch Springs to the Saleplace. Cheapest in town and worth the drive.

My friend in WA state saw the car chase while she was on the treadmill and asked me about it. It has gone national! LOL

http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/100909dnmetchase.1fdcefa6b.html (broken link)

>>With their handguns drawn, officers ordered the driver out of the car.
He was smoking and talking on his phone when he got out.
He was swiftly forced to the soggy ground and handcuffed.
It did not appear that he had a chance to complete his final phone call. <<
