Default Thoughts on renting in Irving/Plano?

We're a middle-aged couple looking to move to IRVING or PLANO. Would appreciate your thoughts on whether it will be possible to find a 2 bed-room house/apartment to rent in a safe neighborhood within the $600-$700 per month range, in either Irving or Plano. We're from a very small town in the Mid-west, so we hope you don't mind our question. Thanks!

I don't know if you'll get a 2 bed anywhere in Plano for that price. In Irving you'll have an easier time, but they may not be the greatest neighborhoods.

As someone who formerly lived in Irving, unless you are in the Las Colinas area or Valley Ranch neighborhoods of Irving, you probably want to avoid the city. I'm not sure if you would be able to find an apt in Plano for that price.

Last time me and my wife rented in Plano, it was $950 for a 2bd/2ba that was around 1100sq/ft. That was 3 years ago, and it was near Legacy and the Dallas North Tollway. I remember the closer you went towards 75, the lower the prices generally were on some of the older properties, and it was still what I would consider relatively safe. But you are still likely looking at over $700.

Give a call to a locator service and have them help you. They are free to use and can help you find the price ranges you are looking for and can usually tell you what the area is like. Are you going to be able to come look and check the places out a bit before moving?
