To me, you seems not know much about Dallas and other cites of Texas.
You tried to hide or misleading the facts about Dallas city. I wonder that you still live in the dark and know nothing happend around you and around the world. You dont know why the houses in those areas need steel doors, steel window or steel gates/fence. You dont know why business stores in those areas need to be covered with safe metal windows to prevent burglary(to prevent thiefs run their vehicle into the store to the front windows, most of this kind of burglary usually happended in "South" Dallas are convenient stores or gas stations). You dont anything about people got robbed between Ferguson and N. Bucker near HW I30, or on Haskell Ave & Gaston Ave areas. Prositition and drug activities happened in streets of "South" Dallas (Harry Hines Bvld, Live Oak street and so on)
Too many bad problems in "South" Dallas I don't want to list more.

What exactly did I try to hide or mislead? Did I hide your proper grammar or spelling?

That's the reason I recommend Allen, Murphy or Richardson(I like to live in areas between streets Renner, Campell, Plano Road, North Star. But it's up to the asker who is the decision maker. Maybe some days you find out the reality as I tell you today. I bet the asker making a try by walking in late evening or at night on Ferguson Road, South Skillman, South Abrams, Easton Road, East Mockingbird, North Buckner..so on

Too many bad problems in "South" Dallas I don't want to list more. But things I wish you knew about corruption scandals in DISD lately, about Dallas chief police corruption (the case about illegal charge overtime work) , about news stories about Dallas policemen forced violating girls to have immoral sex with in order to void the citations. Racist issues have been and still existed in "South" Dallas(During Lora Miller was the major of Dallas, scandals with racist that brought city manager to get involved over the firing city officials....and Fake Drug case set up by Dallas Police Department that arrested may innocent people(most hispanics).
Gosh! I dont want to talk more about this. I know South Dallas people will hate me regarding these facts.
To make those South Dallas people happy. I am now declaring that "South" Dallas is a great and safe place to live.
And I wonder why I made negative comments if the South Dallas is great place to live

No YOU are the one that does NOT KNOW DALLAS OR TEXAS!
South of 635 is NOT SOUTH DALLAS! No one and I mean NO ONE calls any area NORTH of Downtown Dallas "South Dallas". It is "NORTH DALLAS" and it is PERFECTLY safe. My gosh, like someone else said, I'm sure the folks over along Strait Lane are just teeming with violence. LOL!!!! Same goes for Preston Center and that entire area. So dangerous and "naughty".
No, you are the one that does not KNOW Dallas or anything about it. If your callin LBJ "HW 635" and anything south of it is considered "South Dallas" to you........... please keep your opinions to yourself as they are very far off base. Sorry this might be cold but it is the truth.
The people that live in MOST of Dallas do NOT have bars on their doors and windows. My gosh, someone needs to take YOU for a ride INTO DALLAS and you might see something for yourself.

Be honest, are you just messing with us??? If you think that "South Dallas" is simply south of LBJ (which you keep calling "highway 635"), then you don't have a clue and really shouldn't be answering questions on a forum devoted to people trying to learn about the city. I live in North Dallas, a few miles south of LBJ, and I can assure you that there are no bars on my windows and I can safely take my dog for a walk at midnight, if I so choose.
Just admit you don't know much about this city (because you don't, you REALLY don't) and move on.

Hey UTDGrad, just answer one last question for me-> if Ferguson Road is in "South" Dallas, where the heck is East Dallas???
Furthermore, no one is telling this girl to buy a home off of Ferguson, I-30 & Haskell, or Harry Hines (which is looking a lot better these days, btw). Yes, those are legitimately rough parts of the city. Call them "naughty", if you want.
But Skillman, Abrams, and Mockingbird run through some of the most desirable real estate and best public schools in Dallas! No bars on the windows or steel doors....seriously doubt you've driven through the neighborhood at Abrams & Mockingbird, where I used to live. I walked my dog every night around 11pm with no incidents whatsoever.
You either need to get out more and see more of the city before posting again on this forum, or stick to what you know, which is not Dallas. Oh, and please buy a map and study up on the neighborhoods and geography of Dallas because if you ever try to give a friend or coworker directions, they're going to end up on 45 & Overton instead of NorthPark Mall (if you were to say, cross the highway & take the 4th exit in South Dallas). LOL!

lol. I love how people are making south of LBJ out to be something like south of I-10 in Los Angeles.
Btw, I'm pretty sure that south of 635 is physically Dallas, while anything north are suburbs/a different state.
