Default West Side of Plano?

I remember reading that west of Coit Rd was the better part of Plano. However, I see some nice looking houses somewhat east of there, by a park. Of course, it's only online. Is west of Coit that much better? TIA.

The vast majority of Plano is nice and very desirable. Like any other place it has it's older areas and even some areas that need a bit of TLC. Unfortunately the term West Plano has taken on connotations other that simply referring to a geographic location. My best advice to you is pick the home and neighborhood that best suits the needs of you are your family.

west of coit is the newer area of plano. it also feeds to plano west sr high (at least for now). but it's not like east of coit is the hood. I agree with pp- pick what fits you best.
