214 was the original one, but I don't think there really is a cool one. When they first added 972, it was only for the outer portions of the area, which means 214 was the central part of Dallas, like inside 635. That didn't last long though. Now it doesn't mean anything as far a location. The newest one is what? 469 or something. I don't see that one too much.

It's definitely the Trophy Club area code (don't know what that is), or if you have to settle for second best, West Allen.

I've been here three years and still have my 312 area code, if that tells you anything.

Lived in the Dallas area all of my life and I've never heard of ANY area code being "cool". I guess IMO some things just don't have the capacity to be cool. I think an area code probably tops that list.

Guess it's not that cool if you don't know what it is.

West Allen has the SAME code as EAST Allen. 972 or 214 or 469. There is no defining code now for any of the areas in Dallas.

I'd hope that the "coolest" number is NOT "911".

In Chicago, 312 was it. There were so many after a while, 708, 847, 773, 630, etc... Here we only have 214 and 972. And, I think Houston, where I once lived, has only two 713 and 281.

Seems like the original AC's are considered the "coolest" if there is such a thing. LOL
