Default First Texas - Any Opinions?

We have been looking at new home builders and one of the ones we have some interest in is First Texas. However, they didn't score too well on the last J.D. Powers survey so I'm wondering if anyone here has knowledge on their reputation. How is the quality of their homes? How is their customer service on warranty issues after the close? Any info, both good and bad would be appreciated.

Rumor has it their reputation's down in the dirt getting trampled. I've not had any dealing with them, and every build and development is different, but research any builder carefully.

I find that their price is cheaper comparing to other builders for the same square footage, but I heard some cracking noise when I walked upstairs in some of their model homes. Depending on what you are looking for. First Texas are not among luxury home builders.

Not a quality builder. Do some searches on yahoo and you will see.

I saw a one of their homes and was not impressed with the workmanship.

The saying you get what you pay for really holds up well with them.
