Default Uptown Referrals and Opinions

We are thinking about moving to uptown to make a change in our lives. I am in need of some referrals and opinions. We are looking at moving to The Mondrian. Can anyone provide any thoughts on the apts? We have a 2yr old daughter and I want to make sure it's family friendly.

We are also going to need:
Pet Sitter/Walker
Babysitter
Daycare

Any Pros/Cons of living in Uptown?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as we are trying to decide if we want to make the move.

I don't think Uptown is remotely family friendly, but that doesn't mean you can't live there.

I had friends that lived there with their two kids while they were between houses. Overall, I think they liked it, but their kids were much older (tween-teen) and they go across the street to Hank Haney and hit golfballs for fun.

One of the last remarks the dad made to me was that he thought the bldg was one huge party. And they do have parties in the lobby - very loud, in fact. You might want to stop by on a Fri or Sat night and check out the scene.

There's a company called Sitter Central Dallas - you might check them out. There's also a mother's day out at a church on McKinney at Elizabeth St (right around there).

There's a great park at Scottish Rite Hospital for 2 yr olds - Maple and Oaklawn.

Default Thank you

Thank you both for your immediate response and feedback. I am really nervous about making such a move, but excited about a change. I sat in the lobby yesterday for awhile in the afternoon and did notice a good amount of families. I will however, take your advice and check it out on a Fri and Saturday night. Thanks for that!

I should add that my friends moved out about 2 years ago and I haven't been in the building since then.

If you saw families going in and out, that's a great sign!!
