Please provide some zip codes in Garland and Richardson...
Hi,
We have found quite a few rentals (not apartments) to our surprise in Garland atleast. Which zip codes should we look at and which ones should we avoid in Garland and Richardson?.
Just looking at previous post, if I understand correctly, we should probably ask the Realtor about showing us properties in S. Garland as opposed to North Garland?
Thanks in advance!

You have that backwards... Richardson should be your first choice to look in, all three zips are fine. If you go to Garland, you want NORTH Garland and not South Garland.

Zip codes
Actually we do not have it backwards. We did look in Richardson first. I just mentioned that we were finding more rentals (quite a few) in Garland. We are continuing to look in both areas.
We definitely want safety and a racial mix.
I am sending you a pm.
Thank you for the information!

Garland is fine
You really can not go by zipcodes as they stretch, twist, turn and take all kinds of weird turns through the area. My zipcode up in the Firewheel area is the same zipcode down for the area of Oakridge on the Garland/Richardson border at Buckingham and Jupiter.
If you have found something and need to know the REAL scoop on the area feel free to pm me.

I was saying "backwards" in regards to north and south Garland.

hi,
Yikes! I shouldn't type when I am dead tired.
I actually meant to say North G. as opposed to S. G. because someone did mention N. Garland being a better choice previously, I was basically verifying that. Glad you said something, I just realized what I typed. I was thinking one thing and typed another.
I think when you look up the word tired in the dictionary it should say- mother!:
Thanks,
musicmom

Hi,
I understand what you are saying. I thought about that, but without being there, it is hard to know how to gauge things.
I sent you a pm.

zip codes
Fratermus your statement doesn't make any sense. I asked for help with zip codes and you are talking about making someone's point???
Falcon's point if you may was North vs South G. That was addressed. She also suggested to look in Richardson, and my point to her was that we looked there first but found more rentals in one area over the other. No, I didn't have to make her point, she and I were already on the "same page"!
Thanks to those who posted here to actually answer my questions.
Momof2dfw, I got your pm, will respond soon.

Consider this interpretation:
Musicmom @ 9:58am: Help me find zips to avoid when renting in Garland and Richardson.
Falcon @ 9:12am: You should be looking in Richardson first.
Musicmom @ 9:32am: But there are more rentals in Garland...
Fratermus @6:11pm: ...which is why you should be looking in Richardson.
The gist of this reading is that areas with large numbers of rental houses are frequently (to use a term of art) craptastic.
