Hi All!

I'm planning a trip to Dallas during the dates of 01/23-01/26/2010. This trip is to scope out the area for possible relocation. I was wondering if I can get some tips on where to stay (for cheap), I just want to make sure it's a safe area.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Do you want a central location in the city or do you want to stay in the 'burbs?

Closer to the central area...it'll cut travel time when driving in and around the city.

You might check the Radisson on Central. It's near SMU.

The La Quinta on 75 just south of Henderson is very well located with tons of restaurants and bars within walking distance in the Knox-Henderson area Knox/Henderson Guide on Citysearch®. This puts you 2 miles north of Downtown Dallas: La Quinta Inn Dallas Cityplace (Dallas, TX) - Hotel Reviews - TripAdvisor.

Oh, here's another one in the Knox-Henderson area. It's at 75 @ Fitzhugh. Either one of these should be well below $100/night.

Sometimes you can get a cheap rate at The Palomar -- they have an SMU rate if you ask. Great people watching and you are at Mockingbird Station. Hip Hotel and all that...
