Howdy everyone,

I'm wondering if there is any sort of public transportation from Mesquite to downtown Dallas or is a car necessary?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Mesquite is not a Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) member city and has no public transportation. A car is needed to travel from downtown Dallas to Mesquite.

I commuted to Downtown from Mesquite for 11 years. Like stated Mesquite is not a member of DART. I drove over to the Garland Park & Ride (Duck Creek Station) and rode the bus to work. I had many many coworkers from Mesquite who did the same.

Mesquite does not particiapte in DART, so there is no public transportation there at all. However, Garland (to the north and east) has express buses and some light rail, and there is also a DART rail station near White Rock Lake. DART.org - Dallas Area Rapid Transit

I would say a car is necessary for living in any burb. Driving over to Garland is not a big deal depending on what part of Mesquite you are living. The closer you are to I-30 the better your commute time will be.
