My father, is currently looking a job in Irving Texas. Not knowing anything about Dallas, its surroundings and neighborhoods I'm kind of at a loss of where to look for housing. We always told ourselves if we moved we wanted land. We are looking for:

2200 Square Feet
10 + Acres
Updated House
Within 35 Miles Max of Irvine
All for under $250,000.. cheaper is better!

Any places I should look?

Thanks,

Justin

There is a beautiful property in Southlake that meets all your criteria with a little over 10 acres, a little over 5700sf with an asking price of 1.8 m.

I'm sure you can find anything if you are willing/able to pay the price. A price range would help to direct you better. The 35 mile radius is a great start.

Try looking south, like Midlothian.

I swear that it wasn't there when I posted my first answer. If so, I apologize.

For anything below 250K the pickings would be slim but doable. You would have to stay on top of the market, they would sell very fast and expect to be in a multiple offer situation most likely. Check around Denton, Krum, Ponder. You can go a little further west towards Poolville & Weatherford. If you go south as FND suggested, then Waxahachie & Red Oak would have a couple too.

Most properties with acreage with a good value are on the east part of the metroplex in Hunt and Kaufman counties, that would be a lot further than the 35 miles you are looking to be within.
