It lists approximate commuting times .

Commute Drive Times Distances Between Dallas DFW Cities / Towns

My DH is obsessed with Highland Village...he has visions of frolicking on the lake beach on the weekends. Honestly, how far would that commute be to either the airport or an office near Love Field. Thanks so much-the posters here are so helpful!

I think those are travel times without traffic. Highland Village to DFW wouldn't be so bad, but to Love Field would be awful!

It's about 20 miles from Highland Village (city center) to Love Field. You would get on I-35E after the bridge, so it wouldn't be too bad, as the Lake Lewisville bridge is where things really back up. I would say this would be about a 45 minute commute, depending on how fast you can get on I-35E. If there is an accident somewhere along the way, it's probably going to be longer than 45 minutes.

I think you need to multiply those commute times by 1.5-2x. It says Allen to Downtown Dallas is 30 minutes; that is more like a 45-60 minute commute during rush hour.

Also, you can always head to our many lakes on the weekends to "frolick" no matter where you live. It's only consistently above 80 here from May to the first or second week of October, so it's not exactly like Dallas has 10-12 months of beach weather like southern Florida or the deserts in Arizona & Southern California.

It shows that the source of the info is Yahoo Maps. Those are indeed times without ANY traffic.

I can share, IMHO some of the worst traffic in the area is on I-35E during commute times. If there is a wreck somewhere, you best pack a lunch.
