I did a search on the forum for this and was surprised not to find any previous posts that could help me.

I want to rip out my tub and make it a full size shower. Nothing real difficult - just put in hardy board, membrane, tile, new fixtures. I might want to raise the shower head as well.

I had an estimate with Home Depot that was strange. They only wanted to do it one way, they were way too expensive, and they wanted me to sign something without a detailed contract.

Home Depot Expo is gone.

I know I can look on Angie's List or check out the Home and Garden show that comes around every so often.

So I'm asking around here to see if anyone could point me in the right direction of someone to hire for this job. Thanks.

These guys did some work for a friend of mine. I took their card, but haven't used them yet. My friend was pleased with what they did.

It's also a good idea to consult an interior designer when working on these kinds of projects. They tend to have good contacts in the industry (contractors, painters, etc...), and their experience could end up saving you from making costly mistakes. You are actually having someone build a shower pan. These need to be done right the first time or they will leak years down the road. Moderator cut: must have at least 10 posts to make specific recommendations
