Default need info on areas in a 20-30 mile radius of Midlothian,TX

I am looking for some info on a good area for my family. My husband will be working in Midlothian and would consider 20 -30 mile radius. I do need a school district that has good programs for special needs children. I have a 12 year old and a 10 year old(which is my Special Needs child). We would like to stay between 150,000 - 250,000 range. Can anyone suggest different cities I could start looking at and/or School Districts that would work for us?
Thank you very much.

With the news exposure Midlothian got a couple of years ago, I would not buy in the actual city.

There are tons of cities, which would be considered Dallas suburbs. I don't know about their schools, but city names include Waxahachie, Ovilla, Red Oak, and they all blur together.

Midlothian is a nice community. It has a "small town" feel but is rapidly-growing. The population has more than doubled since the last census in 2000. I don't know about special education program offerings, but the district is generally well-regarded. Other nearby communities include Cedar Hill, Ovilla, Mansfield, Maypearl, Venus, and Waxahachie. All have homes within your desired price range as well.

The character of each community and school district varies. The cities of Mansfield and Cedar Hill are very suburban with larger populations. Mansfield's school district is quite large, with over 30,000 students. Cedar Hill is a diverse city that serves as the area's retail center. Its school district mirrors the city in terms of ethnic and socio-economic diversity. Waxahachie has seen a lot of growth in recent years in terms of people and businesses. Its a pretty self-sufficient community. Maypearl and Venus are located to the south and southwest of Midlothian, respectively. They are small, rural towns with small school districts. Maypearl's school district has just over 1,000 students, while Venus is approaching 2,000. Ovilla is situated northeast of Midlothian. The community has an estimated population of 3,850. Homes typically sit on larger lots in Ovilla and home prices are somewhat higher on average than in some of the surrounding areas. The Red Oak Independent School District serves most of Ovilla.

Here are links to school districts in Midlothian and the surrounding areas. I'm sure you will be able to find more detailed information on specific programs offered in each district as well as contact information.

Midlothian Independent School District
Waxahachie Independent School District
Maypearl Independent School District
Mansfield Independent School District
Cedar Hill Independent School District
Red Oak Independent School District
Venus Independent School District

Best of Luck!

I'm not sure.

If no one else posts an answer to your question in the next day or so, then I'll post a separate thread on this topic or send out a few direct messages to some of the realtors who are active on this forum to get an answer.
