About three or four weeks ago during the hard freeze my wife noticed a small hairline crack in the sheet rock above one of our doors. We also noticed a couple "lumpy" areas in the floorboards upstairs. So, I called two foundation companies and they came out looked around and said that everything looked fine with the foundation; one company said that there was some slight upheaval on one side of the house, but nothing to warrant repairs - just extend the gutter downspouts to try to prevent future issues.

Fast forward to today and we haven't noticed any other cracks. However, we have been noticing more pronounced lumpy areas in the floorboards upstairs. These areas basically run parallel throughout the house. So, for example, the same lumpy spot runs in what seems to be a straight line through the house. So far we haven't noticed similar issues on the first story.

The house is only 13 years old.

Has anyone had these issues before? Recommendations? Does the cold weather have anything to do with these issues?

I assume you have wood floors upstairs--depending on what type of wood floors could it be that it was a laminate product that is starting to de-laminate?

have you had any water issues or notice more humidity/condensate on the windows

You mean the lumps run in a straight line from one side of the house to the other side? I would worry about a crack in the foundation or a sagging support beam under the 2nd floor.. Probably best to get a structural engineer, not a foundation company, to come inspect. Will cost you but peace of mind is worth it - and esp. if something is wrong!
