yes...how could I forget Country Place. One of the best schools in the CFBISD system. Also, the sub division has retained some character over the years and is very well maintained as a whole. It does have a homeowners association though and that isn't for everybody. I grew up in Country Place and it is surprisingly quiet considering it is off Marsh Lane. It also has a small 9 hole golf course and offers many kid friendly events. I have a friend that just bought a house in CP and just loves it.

LOL... I was just thinking... I've been out of high school 26 years now...YIKES! Country Place is at least 36-45 years old as I know we moved there when I was in 7th grade and I'm not sure how long before that the community was established. It amazes me how they have kept that subdivision as nice as they have.

I currently live in north Carrollton. There are pros and cons. With DART moving in, I think that upscale multifamily units will replace some of the older homes. As with most inner ring suburbs, there's a very diverse population which means that schools can range from very good to marginal. The neighborhood we moved from as a starter home is now almost completely Hispanic. The Lewisville ISD area next to us is diverse, but the parents are more inclined to be well educated and so the schools support a higher level of scholastic achievement. There are million dollar homes in Castle Hills and they are very nice. It is one of those judgement call things. I do think Carrollton lacks some amenities such as a movie theater and book store, but I think that too will change when DART finally moves it's belated train line in town.
