There will be a Baylor Station opened in 2009 - there are plans for a large TOD (transit oriented development) there...

Southwestern will also have a station --- Aceplace?

No, that's not Dallas, he's talking about suburbs and exclusive parts of Far North Dallas (not on the rail). That's not the 'real' Dallas!

However, I would say that the system seems to be popular in the suburbs of Plano and Richardson (on the line) and the daily ridership is over 60,000 - this is before the 25 mile expansion in the next two years. Then the lines extend even further over the next few years following...

I LOVE Dart Rail and wish they had more miles of track. That doesn't mean they have made little progress though; quite the opposite.

Having lived in Europe and been to many cities where I've used the rail system, DART is coming along very nicely. And the light rail is amazingly clean and comfortable. I love taking the TRE double-decker from Hurst Substation to downtown Dallas. It's such a cool ride looking out over the trinity river bottoms from upstairs.

In my opinion, they've done a great job with DART and it looks like it will have a very bright future here in DFW.

Below are som pics of the TRE that goes from FW to downtown Dallas.

Southwestern Medical Center - Is that the Medical/Market stop or is that Parkland and Childrens and the others down there. Isn't Southwestern near there?

I'm not sure, but is SMC located near union station? It seems like the TRE stops right in front of a medical center right before it gets into Dallas. You'll have to pardon me, I go to Dallas now and then but have never been to SMC.

I *think* I drove by Southwestern last time I was in town ... it's at the very south end of Inwood?

** Inwood and Harry Hines, just north of 35E. It's not that far from the Park Cities at all.

I forgot to mention that I love trains of all kinds. Big ones, the light rail type, etc. I really think DART and TRE will be the future of transportation in the DFW metroplex.

The Parkland/Southwestern station will be near the intersection of Motor and Harry Hines. There will also be another station at Inwood and Denton Drive. These two stations will serve the medical center.

There should also be a Transit Oriented Development near the Parklans/Southwest station.

You should note that these stations and lines are not blue-sky wishful thinking... DART is already moving the dirt.
