Our first trip to Dallas is this week. There is a job interview and a realtor to meet up with. Outside of that, what should we plan on seeing to get a feel for the area? Bear in mind we're past the bar/club scene age and are more interested in things families can do together...museums, parks, fun malls, activities.

The Dallas Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center next door are good. The original Neiman Marcus is downtown and it is really beautiful. Fair Park has several wonderful museums. The mall I like is Northpark. Drive around Whiterock Lake, it's really beautiful. Hmmm... what sorts of things do y'all like to do?

Actually, Northpark has had a food court for over a year now, and it's the best one I've seen! It has a Tin Star, WhichWich (AWESOME subs) Chick-fil-A, Sonic, a pizza place, a salad place, Chinese, etc. I love it!

You've gotten a lot of good suggestions. White Rock Lake has a fun playground area that overlooks the lake. Not sure how old your kids are, but mine are 3 and 6, and this is one of their favorite spots. Especially since they can go feed the ducks first!

We're staying in Plano. The Dart is a great idea. Do people use it regularly to commute? I am not so into the Southfork Ranch. I have mixed feelings about the grassy knoll and book depository..perhaps because I will have a toddler in tow. Reunion Tower? I have to go google that.

NorthPark Mall is a definate must see, great architecture, world class shopping. It is one of the few malls from the 60's to not only survie but thrive. Anyone who has grown up in Dallas has slid down the inclined planters as a kid.
