[quote=galore;938777]Really ???

I am living in Dallas/Lake Highlands on a good size lot and am seriously considering a little chicken scoop. Dallas does allow chickens (no roosters), goats, sheep, horses etc. I am surprised Mesquite doesn't.

QUOTE]

There are areas of south Mesquite where i have seen horses. No other livestock though.

I believe you have to have two acres for a horse as many of those around White Rock Lake and Fisher Road...I don't know how much is required for 'room for a pony' but Marilyn Hoffman keeps one at the old Kramer (A. Harris Dept Store) Estate on Westlake (near the 'Pam Ewing House').

I know this is a VERY old post, but as I was perusing, I had to throw in my two cents worth. I am HISPANIC, CATHOLIC, A TEACHER AND A LESBIAN who has lived in the same house in the same neighborhood for the past 12 years. I love it here. My children's school are aware of my life with my partner. My daughter actually "outed" me at a school event where an eye wasn't even batted. My partner was even voted to be on the school PTA board!! I think Oak Cliff isn't some place you would choose to live. Oak Lawn is very openly the "gay" area, but like others have posted, more of the young single crowd. I don't live in the area I work though, and I am not out at work. Two very separate worlds. I work in a MUCH more conservative district and have seen how lesbians are treated in my particular building and wont be coming out any time soon.
