I work in that industry and Haggar does not have a good reputation. If you are interested in retail, check into Fossil, Pier 1, JCPenney, Neiman's. I would avoid Zale as I would be surprised if they are not bought out/ completely closed in the next 12 months.

good write up about Fossil growing in economic downturn in some area paper or web site

DaytonHudson is still probably doing ok
Walmart I would have a real problem with since I really do think that is close to sweatshop conditions in many ways--of course all companies are trying to get their products made for the least and sold for the most...but WalMart really takes advantage of its floor people--

know someone who works for General Mills--he has done well and has had pretty good work environment/benefits == stuff like that but it is demanding company-

taking a job with a company that has a bad rep is always iffy--in this economy the question is of course--will I get another to replace the one I turn down--so people are not going to be doing that very much--question should be I guess--how can you take advantage of this job and get better one later?
