I do 40 miles. I like were I work and thus it makes the commute bearable. I love where I live and I would not live any other place (within a radius of 5 miles). It takes 40-70 minutes. I listen to the radio, return patients' phone calls, etc. I even call my family and check in with them.

-How many miles is your commute and how long does it take?
-What are your reasons for taking on a long commute?
-What things do you do to make your commute more tolerable?
-30 minutes good traffic, 45 Minutes bad traffic.

-Good living location and good work location doesn't always happen next to each other.

-Satellite radio! I swear public radio stations played the same 10 song set every hour!

45 minutes going in early, before traffic, but over an hour coming home because of traffic in the Dallas area. Not fun.

I'm right around 45 minutes, depending on what the traffic is like and what time I leave. I put up with it because my wife stays at home with our 3 kids (6, 3, and 2) and I wanted: a full acre for them to play, close amenities for them (shopping, trampoline parks, bounce houses, nice restaurants), and good schools. We looked all over and only found few places that fit my criteria, so we ended up in Keller (the NE side by westlake, southlake, and roanoke).

What I've started doing about the commute is leaving the house at 6:00 am and then hitting the gym in Fort Worth (Larry North). Then I get ready there and am at work by 8:00. Traffic is about 30 minutes at that time.

I used to have a 90+ minute commute going from McKinney to downtown Fort Worth that lasted just over a year. Worked my way back to Dallas which is about 30-40 minutes. I have more time, and more energy when I get home and it's cut my gas/toll bill in half from $500-$600 dollars a month to $300.
