Corfo, check with Nancy Young (Tel: 972-600-5070) who I believe is a Special Education Coordinator at Irving ISD.

Irving ISD's LIFE program offers similar services to what your child gets right now: part Inclusion, Speech Therapy, Vision, Physical Therapy, Teacher-with-two-Assistants, dedicated Nurse-in-Classroom in case your child is medically fragile, special equipment / facilities oriented exclusively for LIFE students, Teachers who are trained for LIFE Special Ed (and not generic Special Ed) and so forth. However, this is a full-time Mon-Fri regular Elementary program & students are typically of Kindergarten-age (age 5 in TX) & up.

A 3-year old child may be sent to a pre-primary school called "Early Childhood School". Irving ISD has 3 Early Childhood schools: Clifton, Kinkeade & Pierce.

I am not sure if these Early Childhood Schools offer LIFE programs. Check with Nancy Young.

If these EC schools do not offer LIFE, then please ask Nancy if an exception is possible & if your child can go to a LIFE program in a regular Elementary school. If you can show hardship or if you appeal to the School Superintendent, then perhaps an exception might be made.

Thanks Rohan, this was exactly what I needed. Moving is stressful and I feel terrible about pulling our little one out of her great program here. Irving is a great option for us, we like to live very close to where we work and I am really looking to our move and making some new friends.
I appreciate your help.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Corfo - Can you please tell me if you have found an ISD that offers good lifeskills program in and around Dallas? I am searching for one for my 6 year old. Thanks!!

One of my friend's daughter goes to Brent Woodall. Not sure if they have programs you will be looking for but you can definitely check them out Brent Woodall Foundation

my friend's daughter has autism and is going to Brent Woodall fro probably 3 years. They are very happy with school and driving about 60 miles one way a day just to be in the program. Brent Woodall is in Irving.
