Also can't forget Highland Park Village off Mockingbird and Preston Road in Highland Park just across from the Dallas Country Club. Very upscale stores and boutiques including Chanel, Hermes, Escada and one of the few locations in the US for Harry Winston Jewelers.

Does any of the others have an ice rink in the mall? That was just awesome. Especially considering I like to ice skate

I heard they will build another one in the new mall that's going in at Montgomery Fams in Allen (Bethany).

At one time there was an Ice Capade place on Midway and Beltline, I'm not sure if they are still there or not. Also, I believe their is a place for public use over off I35 and Valley View in Farmers Branch. It is across from the Technology Learning Center for CFBISD and the DART rail station.

If you are from Jeffersonville/south Indiana area I think you might find Dallas a comfortable fit. I only base this off the fact my family is from Indiana (dad born in Jeffersonville, and mom and dad rasied in Anderson,Indiana). My cousin moved here from Indiana and had the chance to live in Phoenix as well. He opted here because in general he felt he clicked better with the Dallas population. He also felt Phoenix was more of an area for the older crowd. He was 21 when he moved to Dallas. I'm guessing because of the sports and because Dallas seems to have people from all over the states and he didn't feel like an outsider.
Goodluck with making the right decision for yourself. It sounds as if you are not making a rash decision. Good for you.

Thank you. I'm actually from New Albany which is right next to Jeff. I'm sure you've heard of it.

When I visited Dallas, it did seem a lot like here in some ways but both places obviously have their differences. The D/FW area did almost look like a much much nicer version of here without the hills.

I like the sports in Dallas but the sports in Pheonix aren't bad. As I've said before, Dallas has better teams and better stadiums but Phoenix isn't bad at all. Phoenix also has spring training and Arizona fall league games. Phoenix has better weather mainly because it doesn't get as cold in the winter time and has less storms.

I think I would probably fit in and adapt to either place. I honestly don't really think I can go wrong with either option. I loved both.

Go with your heart... but the mom in me is asking for you to make sure you go to the place you can find the school or type of work you will need to make it work for you. Take care of yourself.
