FWIW I think it's very helpful when people include a lot of examples with very specific locations and distances. It doesn't come across as "name dropping" to me at all. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt - after all we're on an anonymous internet forum. It's also helpful to see many examples of what someone thinks of as good - especially if I've been to one of the places they mention - then I can calibrate their advice to my own standards and the post becomes even more useful. I don't even have to agree with them for this to work to my advantage.

Then none of that applies to you Some other people on the other hand....

BTW: I'm sure you know of this already but a GREAT place for those kinds of restaurant/bar/anything else reviews is the website Yelp. They even have an Iphone app which is really good.

Personally I never try a new restaurant before reading what people have to say about it on Yelp first.
