Just as an historical sidebar... the DISD school next to the West Village neighborhood has an interesting history.

In the 1930s, one of its students was a fellow who later became known as "Tex Avery".

Tex eventually became interested in film animation, and migrated to Los Angeles. He took a job at Warner Brothers, and eventually became a director of animated films.

He remembered his old school... North Dallas High... at that time an affluent suburban school. The kids had their own slang. They would say... "Hi, Doc", "how are you Doc"... "and the famous "What's Up Doc".

He incorporated the patter into his animated Warner Brothers shorts... and so Bugs Bunny became famous for his wisecracking... "What's Up, Doc"?

Interesting.

"Here I go with the timid little woodland creature bit again. It's shameful, but...ehhh, it's a living."

I like the one where Yosemite Sam puts Bugs into the calaboose. Bugs convinces Sam there on the wrong side of the bars, so San switches rooms with Bugs,

So Bugs pushes the door shut, locking Sam into the calaboose.

Anybody remember tis onoe?
