Great Schools.net is good but not the "be all". I think I just used the correct saying. LOL!

I'm a teacher in one of the suburbs around Dallas. I think every school has their good points and weak points. In my opinion you have to determine what it is you want for your family and what you want in a school. I think personally what I would be looking for along with academics would be a safe environment. Is it gang free or is it a school that values character education etc. I visited my son's school before deciding whether to send him to our neighborhood school or bring him with me in my district. I think you can get a good feel for a school by walking the halls.

I hope your sister can find what she wants.
