Hi everybody, i'll be coming to the dallas metro area for at least a couple of weeks to see if i like the area for a possible move and i need some help with the locals as to which of these zip codes i should book a hotel to stay in? I don't care if it is a dallas or fort worth or another cities zip code as long as it is still in the dallas metro area. I'm just looking for a safe area with some stuff nearby maybe like a mall or a main street that has a lot of businesses and places to eat off of it. Thanks for your help, it would be great if you could just give me your 2 or 3 best picks from the list. Thanks again. 75067, 75006, 75252, 75243, 76180, 75247, 76011, 76015, 76017, 76001, 75087, 76262, 76137, 76119, 75071, 76207. Also i'm from the st. louis area originally so if anyone knows what i'm talking about i'm looking for an area that resembles the st. charles, st. peters, ofallon area. If anyone knows what would be the dallas area equivalent of these st. louis area cities that would be fantastic?

I'm native to Dallas and I don't know zip codes (except my own and even then I have no clue the boundaries), sorry. Perhaps if you had more information about the areas - say the names or cross streets or something you could provide, that would be helpful.

Baylor hospital in Plano? That's a good area - West Plano. There are quite a few extended stay hotels right around that hospital. Is that what you are looking for? Nice area. Newer, but not brand new. Denny's, I-Hop are right there.

I have not been to Ft. Worth or Arlington in 20+ years - if that gives you an idea how big the DFW area is.

I'd say Arlington by the U. of Texas is not as good as a few blocks down near the Parks Mall; also zip code 76015. So if you are making reservations ask how close the Parks Mall is. If w/i a mile you will be in good shape. You'd find many restaurants, the mall, close to the fun up north -- 6 Flags & wet and wild, also easy to Ft. Worth and Dallas. You should enjoy this location a lot.

76180, ummmmm, its fine, too. Very surburban. Not much of a buzz. But well located to Denton, Dallas & Ft. Worth.
